PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF HOPE
The Charism of the Franciscan Missionaries of Hope, born of the circumstances that led to the founding of the Institute itself, has remained central to the mission of the Institute. From the very first day of their formation, the Ndugus are reminded of the need to remain faithful to the Charism of the Institute. Through it, the Ndugus - whether in formation, in parishes, in hospitals, or in the prisons - are able to preach the message of Hope to the people of God. The Ndugus of our Institute are presently ministering in parishes as pastors and administrators; in hospitals and prisons as chaplains; and in institutions of learning as teachers and counselors.
Parish Ministry
Parish ministry has been central in the Institute's nurturing and growth of her charism and mission. It is in the parishes that the Ndugus get the opportunity to live out the virtue of hospitality that has become synonymous to the our name and way of life. The parishes have also become our partners in mission. Not only have we experienced immense support from the parishes where we serve, they have also seen our institute grow and have become part of our history.

Hospital Ministry
With God's blessing, the support of the local Churches where we minister, and the support of our friends and partners in mission, the Franciscan Missionaries of Hope continues to grow. Our growth in numbers has allowed us to respond to the needs of the time by accepting invitations to non-parish ministries such as Hospital chaplaincy. Our Ndugus serve as Hospital chaplains in the Diocese of Rockville Center, NY.
Other Ministries
Our charism of hospitality, coupled with the ministry of presence, require that our Ndugus avail themselves to serve the people of God wherever we are needed. Our Ndugus also serve as professors and counselors in colleges and other institutions of learning; High School Chaplains; Prison Chaplains.
